the U.S.A. can stop any One gang or cartel but they can never stop all of them because they will never be able to stop poverty and they can never stop the drug smuggling business, especially now that the U.S. is experiencing a financial crisis. All the U.S. can do as they always have, is sustain the problem. Trust me, the U.S. is the baddest country on the planet but they don't want any involvement in the Mexican drug war.

Chapo would be stupid to try and mess with the U.S. but his cartel is already spread throughout the U.S. and his product is being used by thousands, millions of American drug users already.

The U.S. would rather have one cartel leader to deal with then a big group of inexperienced leaders going to war with each other. The latter is too messy for the U.S. to get their hands dirty. With that said, I still believe that El Chapo will be caught one day and Mayo will probably become the top dog. Chapo has become too much of a poster boy and one thing that the U.S. does not like is a criminal who possesses too much power.

If the U.S. were smart, they would legalize marijuana. As far as cocaine, I still haven't made up my mind about that but to make a long story short, the U.S. is a very vulnerable country right now. They can't afford to get into any other wars right now and the one war no country can ever win is the War On Drugs.

Yeah you're right. Chapo wouldn't mess with the U.S. and there's no chance that the Mexican cartels would be able to act the way that they do in Mexico. Can't argue that. I remember not that long ago when the DEA cleaned up parts of Texas and arrested some zetas. It was a message to the cartels that they won't be tolerated in the U.S.

But I have a feeling that Chapo is an informant to the U.S. I won't believe otherwise until he is caught. I have a feeling that Mexico and the U.S. had already captured Chapo but then decided to use him as an informant and let him go. The U.S. and Mexican government could get a lot of information from Chapo. Keep your enemy close to you.

Very nice avatar picture. Politics backstabbing is not much worse than criminal backstabbing. That's just how life is. Survival of the fittest. Dog eat Dog. I think that Chapo backstabbed important people to get where he's at but it's a matter of choosing the lessor evil and I agree with you that Chapo, Mayo and Azul as a monopoly is much better for Mexico than Lazcano and Trevino as a monopoly.

If the Mexican government can force los zetas out of Mexico and peace ensues after, well I'm undecided about what Mexico should do at that point. Half of me says, to let the peace continue. The other half says, to continue the war against Chapo. But I bet you that if Chapo takes over, that peace will ensue in Mexico. I can't say the same about the ratazzz. And if this happens, you know that the zetas will only bring the war to Central America.

The U.S. has such a high consumption of drugs that their has to be someone to supply the drugs. Supply and Demand. The U.S. government will never be able to stop the drug smuggling business until they legalize narcotics. So there will always be a cartel who will have to smuggle these drugs into our country. All of those disillusioned Conservative dreamers who believe that they can destroy all of the cartels and that people can be forced to stop using drugs one happy day, are all ignorant.

So, even though I want this war to continue after Calderon leaves.....Mexico, one day, will still have to choose a cartel(s) to coexist with forever until drugs are legalized (or) at least Marijuana. New York is giving in already. Bloomberg is endorsing a proposal to decriminalize small amounts (25 grams) of weed in NYC. Basically, he's endorsing the legalization of cannabis. If Obama can get his head out of his ass and stop attacking California's weed dispensaries and the ignorant U.S. congress can get weed legalized, that would take away half of the power from the cartels, especially Chapo.
