Body of "El Kevin" Who Was Rescued in the Sinaloa Ambush of Military Dumped in Navolato

Culiacan, The body of a man found outside of the Auto Zone in Navolato last Sunday was "El Kevin", Julio Óscar Ortiz Vega, the man rescued in the ambush on September 30.

The body was located last Sunday wrapped in a tarp. Ortiz Vega has been identified as a cousin of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán by the government [SEDENA].

The September 30, 2016 ambush followed a shootout in Bacacoragua, in the Sinaloa municipality of Badiraguato, and resulted in the five deaths and ten wounded, all of them part of the army unit that was transporting "El Kevin" for medical attention in Culiacan following the shootout.

@Kid, was he more important to Chapitos or Guano? I am just curious if he might have been taken out by his own group.

Probably an enemy group.  This news outlet is reporting that the autopsy showed signs of torture and a violent death.  Apparently he was dragged (I'm assuming a moving vehicle) and finally shot.

I don't know.....is it likely he was rescued then kidnapped by a rival group and dropped off?  I'd think more likely it was internal.  Though, given the Damaso/Menores feud, that's definitely a possibility too.

Yeah, it's a weird situation all around, much like everything going on with Sinaloa.

The story where the military thought 'el Kevin' was Aureliano 'el Guano' Guzman and then blamed the ambush and rescue on 'el Guano' makes senses, but right after it happened the local commander blamed the Chapitos for the convoy of 15 vehicles and 50-70 sicarios that ambushed them.

El Guano is in charge of the sierra for CDS and the Chapitos are mostly in Culiacan and the valleys.

If the shootout in Bacacoragua involved Guano and his people, it would be difficult for them to get a large force in front of the military vehicles and ambulance transporting el Kevin, so it makes more sense the Chapitos were called and they put together a convoy and forces and waited for them where interstate 15 come into the north end of Culiacan for the ambush, with local police doing nothing to stop them or warn the military.

It seems odd that his own group or family would have tortured him so severely, but dumping the body in Navolato is also odd. It's a message which seems better delivered where CDS is in force, like Culiacan or the sierra.

It was probably enemies of CDS and they didn't want to transport the body because most state and municipal police still work for CDS.

Ivan gave his ass guns and money and has not done squat, the chance of a chimal changing to Beltran not in this lifetime ,they're not transporters they're assassin's they don't have that luxury.then again sinaloa for the last month's have been throwing real phoney news.why make El Kevin and example to the public makes no sense for CDS even if it was the enemy group their going to heat up their own territory .and why kill the person in charge now? it isn't over yet .

With the info given and there sneaky ways of presenting false info this dosnt sound legitimate at all.my opinion something smells fishy here! Revenge only it a legitimate world! First of all their invistagations where it was el guano and his people what does that tell you? El kevin belongs to FED damaso.i make a better invistagator and that should be embarrasing enough!then turning the other way when something happens and inflating their pockets with blood money is a good reason to pretend something else happen. Who let el chapo out? Your still thinking goverment is legit? There was group of people retired from CISEN that was spying on mexican gov Ohhhh boy are these people dirty! Im surprised BB has no intrest in sharing shit like this!

Yep with the press of a button gone. That's the 2nd time I had to delete him tonight. If he keeps it up he will be well on his way to that banned list.May I remind people and I know most of the regulars are pretty good here that don't need reminding but for those whom are so inclined,No namecalling. You can attack a comment but not the person or I go delete. This forum is not meant for kindergarden mentality. There are some people that need to learn life skills like respect and I don't mean that in the narco sense but if you can't post respectfully than don't bother.Better yet you could journal and keep it to yourself that way nobody has to read crap like personal putdowns..Thank you.
