A supposed leader of a criminal cell was shot to death last night, the Municipal Police reported.
The murder happened in room number five of the Atlantic motel located on Manuel J. Clouthier Avenue near Camino Viejo to La Rosita.
The body was left in the entrance to the room, the uniformed said.
Experts from the State Attorney General's Office seized 13 shells from a .40 caliber semi-automatic weapon.
In an unofficial way it was learned that the executed man was identified as Edgar Roberto Oliver Romo, alias El Garfield, 34 years old, who according to the Municipal Police had several arrests for various administrative offenses and crimes.
According to the municipal authorities, El Garfiel was the leader of the gang of Artistas Asesinos, the armed wing of the Sinaloa cartel and one of the objectives of the Municipal Police.
The Garfield was one of the most sought after objectives by the local authority for being one of the generators of violence in the city, as well as having investigations for the crime against health, illegal possession of a firearm and homicide.
The body found him around 9:50 pm when customers and workers at the motel reported that they heard several gun shots fired at the authorities and then saw several people aboard a golden Navigator van leaving room number 5.
Re: "El Garfield," leader of armed CDS cell, shot to death in motel in Ciudad Juarez
One less scumbag on Earth, that's for sure. But his death will probably trigger a gang war in Juárez.
By the looks of it, this place is a "love motel" (the garage in each of the rooms is a big giveaway), so my guess is he was likely set up by the person who he was with. He was shot at the garage, so I think he died before he was able to have some fun.
