It`s the same penis-lenght-ritual as seen before. But this time Russia crossed all lines and really put dick out in open. Not very pleasent. But on the other hand, US coordinated a small NATO trainingsession in The Baltic Sea that is Russia backyard. So Russia decided to have their own trainingsession just 80 miles away from NATO and then provoced NATO by flying over their ships in simulated attackformations.
As I understand it, NATO handled it cool instead of shooting down the russian birds.
NATO didn`t use any advanced subs or planes in their training so it was probably the best call to let Putins birds showing off a bit.
Re: **off topic** what is up with them russian fighter jets lately
Think the US didn't want to respond when provoked les they be accused of starting something.Russia is probably still smarting over US's fight in Syria and since their economy has tanked if they start something the price of oil will go up on speculation of a war and that's what they've got to strengthen their economy.Russia is probably smarting too that US has have no more sanctions on Iran oil and they are pissed.
@Bajadrone & Canadiana: You are both spot on the reason why Putin allowing this childish behavior!
Russian economy has been hurting a lot since the oilprices went down (thanks to Saudis, Kuwait and US) and fracking began again in Northamerica.
And since Putin, as any other dictator, needs to have his own people and vassal states to stay "in line" he is forced to show off like this or that. Just like all those Youtube-videos from Russian eliteforces showing their strenght in simulated combat. Just a facade.
It really looks to be the death rattle of Putin`s era, making that stupid moves against NATO/US.
Just a couple of years ago Russia wanted to "help" Greece with their economy and offered a big loan to pay off their enourmous dept to european banks and other institutions, but of course that was Russia trying to pinion Greece and pull Greece away from European Union and try to splinter NATO i Europe. That didn`t work either.
Sorry for being a bit OT (Off Topic) but this thread was a good break from all the violent threads.
