The Attorney General's Office (PGR) reported that, based on investigations in different parts of Cancun, Quintana Roo, elements of the Cabinet of Security of the government of the Republic detained Joshua Loyo Peña, El Lobo, presumed member of the New Generation Jalisco Cartel (CJNG).
In a statement, the PGR announced that elements of the SEIDO, Navy, Army, PGR and Federal Police detained Loya Peña, who was allegedly one of the main ringleaders of organized crime.
This happened after personnel from the Navy and Defense Secretariats, the PGR and the Federal Police carried out five searches in the same number of addresses in the city of Cancún.
One of them was the arrest of Joshua Loyo Peña, who belongs to the CJNG, which has its main operations center in the state of Jalisco. Federal forces also secured weapons and drugs.
El Lobo is allegedly responsible for executions against members of antagonistic groups and the assault on the Cancun Public Prosecutor's Office last January, the PGR reported.
