When most teens are entering high school, Rosalio (Bart) Reta was killing. At age 13, the Laredo, Texas, native was brought into the notorious Zetas drug cartel across the border in Mexico, where he committed his first murder, he says. Groomed to be an assassin, Reta worked as a sicario for the crime syndicate, carrying out hits and kidnappings as part of a three-man cell based in Laredo. The pay was good — between $10,000 and $50,000 per hit, plus a weekly retainer and occasional gifts of posh cars. But that's not what drew him in, Reta says. "It didn't even start like that. I was doing good in school. I had no problems. I just, I don't know, in the blink of an eye, everything went sour," he tells Keith Boag of CBC's The National in a prison interview in Texas. And over the next four years, he says, he killed more than 30 people, mostly in Mexico but also in the United States. He's now serving a 70-year sentence in a Texas penitentiary. In his interview with CBC News, Reta reveals some of the inner workings of one of Mexico's most depraved and violent drug cartels. Click on the play button above to watch the video. CBC

Rosalio Reta was a "zetilla" who was responsible for 30 murders until he turned himself in to U.S. authorities after the zetas turned on him for disobeying a command. This lil' dude is the devil in disguise. He was told by zeta leaders not to go to Monterrey to do a hit. He went anyway and shot up a bar, killing 4 and injuring 25 people. When the zetas found out, they put a hit on him. He was kidnapped by his own partners and taken to a residence where they beat and tortured him. They were going to kill him but he was able to escape and ended up killing two of his capturers. He then turned himself in to U.S. authorities where he was sentenced to 40 years in prison. The zetas still have not been able to kill him.
He appeared in the GANGLAND - To Torture or To Kill - LOS ZETAS. Here is the video: ![]() http://borderland-beat.924382.n3.nabble.com/THE-BEAT-td3834684.html

When i play the video i can't see the subtitles during the interrogation scene Chivis, I thought it was off center cause alot of the camera shots seem off

Probably the off center camera angle is meant to hide the videographer from the reflection in the glass.

he made a lot of money was it because he was working the U.S killing there

Thanks Chivo for the info. and Ajulio too.
Makes me wonder how many people did Ponchis kill? And when will he be free? This creep can try to manipulate people, but in light of his crimes, I'm sure it doesn't work. Even if he's been listening to too many Michael Jackson interviews and mimics him-it doesn't help. I wonder if he is given any respect in jail? |

Keith Boag's a really good reporter. He did an excellent report in Monterrey a few months back and covers Mexico regularly for the CBC here in Canada.
I think this is where the death penalty folk build their argument. 70 years for however many lives he took doesn't seem like real justice. It equates to 3 years per murder. The parents of these psycho's should be ashamed - maybe they're already dead. This kid's obviously got serious mental issues because he's talking about the people he worked with as if he's not like them, as if he's more normal than them. Talk about multiple personalities. Here's a link to the actual story if anyone wants to watch the video without it being off center. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/07/04/video-feature-rosalio-reta-national.html |

THanks boss i watched it all this time and could see all the subtitles. LOL @ his wife, what a brainwashed fool. She fell for the micheal jackson act as havana puts it.If you watch when he breaks eye contact and how often he does its always when he's bullshitting. i almost expected him to tear up and ask for some kleenex as a few points. total douchebag, I hope texas do reconsider his sentence and chance it to DEATH BY ELECTROCUTION or lethal injection. They do still have the death penalty in texas right?but im guessing he plea bargained that off the table before he admitted to anything right?Good ol u.s justice
@Chivis ponchis got sucked in and probably drugged up alot + brainwashed so thats likely the reason they went so easy on him and also cause he's still a juvie. They should have waited a tad longer to bring him in so he could be tried as an adult. Not defending the little coward, Jus sayin'
