On December 30, María Jimena Palma Romero , 32, and her mother, Cintia Mercedes Romero Verdugo , 52, were abducted by four subjects in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora .

Both women were identified as relatives of Héctor “El Güero” Palma Salazar , founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, and close to Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán .

According to the Sonora State Prosecutor's Office, the victims left their home at 5:00 p.m. towards the Sams Club shopping store, located on Lake Superior Street, Colonia Zona Norte, to make purchases on board a Kia vehicle, Sport Tech line, brown, 2018 model.

His relatives, realizing that it was 8:00 p.m. and none of the women returned, went to the mall, where the car where the victims were traveling was located.

Later with the investigations it was learned that they were deprived of liberty by a command.

Although the Prosecutor's Office issued a location file, so far they still do not appear.

The only test that the authorities have is a video, showing the moment in which María Jimena and Cintia Mercedes leave through the main door of the business and at gunpoint they are forced to walk.

The recording also captured the moment when women board a van along with the armed group. Then they flee with an unknown direction.

Who is Héctor “El Güero” Palma

He was arrested by chance and released from a prison in the United States for good behavior. Hector "El Güero" Palma Salazar was considered one of the most violent drug traffickers in Mexico in the 80s and 90s and was a close friend of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.

He was born in La Noria de Abajo, in the municipality of Mocorito, Sinaloa and only studied primary school due to the poverty of his family. The crime came soon to his life, and in his teens he already stole cars. He called the attention of Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, the largest cocaine and marijuana drug trafficker in Mexico also known as “The Boss of Chiefs” or “The Godfather”, who hired him as a hitman in the 70s and then commissioned him to smuggle cocaine in Sonora.

A young Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán also worked for Félix Gallardo in the Guadalajara Cartel, so he became a close friend of “El Güero” , who was accused of being left with a drug shipment, so his boss did not It took revenge.

Towards the end of the eighties, "El Güero" and Guzmán Loera were leaping leaps and bounds towards leadership in the narco world with the Sinaloa Cartel, but soon the worst blow came to Palma.

"The Godfather" allegedly ordered to kill the children and the wife of "El Güero", to whom he sent the head of his beloved. The assassination, at the hands of the Colombian narco leader Rafael Clavel Moreno, of the group of Félix Gallardo, took Palma Salazar from anonymity, because an unprecedented battle between the criminals was created.

“El Güero” built a mausoleum with an estimated value of USD 420,000 to his family, in the Jardines del Humaya Pantheon, in Culiacán, Sinaloa. On the ceiling there is a painting of his wife and children.

In revenge, he ordered the murder of nine friends and family of Félix Gallardo. Some of the bodies presented multiple blows, skull fracture and viscera burst.

I can't underatand why this guy is still locked up other than that he probably isn't wanted back on the streets and lacks the money and/or family to facilitate his release.  If Chapo were still the capo di tutti capi I bet Palma would have been out within a month of getting sent back across the border.

Doesn't even sound like they have any legitimate reason to hold him.  And this guy is about the only high level narco I feel bad for.  What they did to his children is incomprehensible even by 2020 narco standards.  Even today young daughters of rival traffickers are off limits.  Real sad.

Chapitos have control of that plaza through gente nueva de los Salazar even though there was a turf war there with chapito isidros people not long ago but there was a cease fire reached between both groups.
As of recently though Salazar’s people have been dealing with infighting between their group and other cds cells under chapitos as well.
Someone must have had permission in order to carry out something like this or is acting on their own accord but I honestly doubt that’s the case seeing as how that is a huge no no with many powerful families within cds.
