The old/current Clave Thread - 2018

This post was updated on .
Hello all,

I was looking for something to do so I decided to start composing lists of the old and current claves that I could find. So far I've only done three groups - all belonging to the Cártel del Golfo, some of which are disbanded or defunct. The majority of this information has come from old posts by members in the respective Gulf Cártel threads, but I will also be using narco rap songs, corridos and just about any other source I can find - so mistakes will undoubtedly be made.

So far I have done Los Metros, Los Tangos and Los Lobos as other members had already offered their own lists of these groups and it was easy to make additions and edits as a result.

I'd like to begin however with a list of names posted by Bjeff on Feb 18, 2015 in regards to various cities and their own radio codes, which has always been of interest to me. If there are any updates to this list or further additions please chip in!

As well, if any of you have additions to what I've compiled, or claves for other groups please add those as well with their respective organization and Cártel.

I'm interested in compiling lists for just about any group or subset, especially the CDG. (Alfas, Ciclones, Escorpiones, Cobras, Jaguares, Kalimanes, Tiburones, Medusas, etc.)

Anyhow,

Good luck with that humongous project. Let me contribute the little I know

First, T-64 Karím Sauceda Gamboa is a misprint in that Contralinea article. It is infamous El Karis or Hector Manuel Sauceda Gamboa or otherwise L-64. I always though he was L9 and R9, but his hat at his memorial speaks a different story.

Los Tangos were the men of Victor Manuel Vazquez Mireles, el Meme Loco or Meme Cabezon

I also suggest you use the monikers they carry in Spanish or else it might be confusion when people are searching based on your work.

T-17 is Juan Daniel Tenango Uspango AKA El Oso (The bear)
T-25 is Ruben Sauceda Rivera
T-29 is Z-29
T-32 is Padrino
T-39 is El Sierra
T-50 is Jose Manuel Barrientos Rodriguez AKA Pepe AKA el Flaco (El Cacahuate is T-25, not T-50)
T-55 is Emilio Montes Sermeño AKA El Flaco Sierra AKA Flaco Montes, brother of Gabriel T-39
T-58 is Sergio Raul Arteaga AKA El Cococho
T-62 is Vicente Castillo Saenz AKA el Mano
T-67 is Héctor Cacique Fernández AKA El Diablo
T-70 is El Rey (Estaca R-2)
T-80 is Tomas Sauceda Gamboa AKA El Tomas AKA El Tony, brother of Gregorio Saucedo Gamboa AKA el Goyo AKA M-2 (Killed May 15, 2010)
T-89 is Roger Gabriel Alfaro Pacheco AKA El Humo

That list is a mix-up of the 3 historical groups of Los Metros. First there was the original Metros, then M-3 Metros and after M42 got killed, there was the chaos we see today. I did the same mistake myself when I tried to post it, at that time as Bjeff.

The first group of Metros came mostly from the Metro police in Matamoros, thus the name. Gordo Montelongo, police officer from Camargo, is mentioned as the guy who came up with it.

Grupo Michelin was a creation of Mario Alberto Cardenas Guillen, and was just a short-lived cross-over group. The sole purpose was to defend Matamoros at the time.

I’ll have to check my old notes, but off the top of my head Mono was M76 and Panillo was M70 forever until he started using M100 and the actual real M1 was not Mario Cárdenas but his name is slipping my mind at the moment. Metro 38 was Juan Amador Moreno Flores and Metro 7 was M3 and Negritos cousin Alfonso Flores Salinas. I have some pretty in-depth notes I’ve collected over the years specificly on CDG/Zeta claves. I will have to see if I can add any new insights.

wasnt  L-1 Juan Manuel Muñoz Morales the one who was chased by La Barbies sicarios in 2003 after he freed two detained Zetas? his death was first mark of the war in Nuevo laredo 2003-2006 between Zetas(under Osiel) and Sinaloas/BLO

Thank you kindly for your contributions and additions! I have updated the above lists with your information.

As for the Metros I figured as much, given that there are a few repeating claves. But I have no real way to discern who belongs to which iteration of Grupo Metro, so I may leave it as is until those divisions become more clear. Also I was unaware you used to have the screen name Bjeff, this explains a lot!

That is pretty fascinating in regards to the Metros origins, as well as Grupo Michelin. I had always wondered how the Metros got their name.

As for the Tangos, if they were the men of El Meme Loco/Cabezon would this make him T-1? Or did he carry a separate designation?

Much appreciated, amigo! I have updated the lists with your input!

You also reminded me I'd forgotten to add El Paquito to the Metros list, and that I was forgetting a few others such as El Ácido, Cherrys Leal, Cherrys Junior, and Betito.

Also is Cmdte Salinas one and the same with Metro 7?

Any further information you have to add would be great as well! This thread need not only be about CDG claves, and I'd be curious to place claves with aliases like Takia, Viejito, Werko Kilos, Nyw, Kalia, etc.

CDG - Tampico Rojos, Rojos Zona Norte & Grupo Black de Madero

Here is what I have thus far on Grupo Rojos Zona Norte in Tampico.
Feel free to also list whatever R-# claves you can think of and I will add them in above the RN claves as I believe Grupo RN is a support group to Grupo R.

I have also added claves for Grupo Black de Madero, which I believe is also a support group to Grupo R.

As many of you know, Los Fresitas (which preceeded Grupo R) was made up of various members from several other organizations, such as Los Jimmys, Kalimanes, Cobras, Lacoste, Tiburón, etc. So whatever claves that are applicable to the group I will add below the Grupo R claves if they lack an R-# designation.

@dcm90

I suspect he's in prison, though not much information is available.

I also think his clave may be Metro 14?

@Corrido Podrido:

I have never seen Meme Loco called T-1, so that would be an assumption, though a qualified guess.

I don't think they really changed claves after M-3 took over, but rather added members and brought in heavily from other groups in a fairly open door policy, so this is the way my list ended up (so far):

@leChef

Corrido Podrido, lol! I certainly do listen to a lot of corridos.

Thank you as always for your in depth information! I've updated the Metros list once again and have taken to splitting it up between 'Los Metros Classic' and 'Los Metros Nueva Escuela.' Which took a lot longer than I thought it would to edit all of that.

I also tentatively added El Meme Loco as T-1 in the Tangos list.

Makes sense about the Metros during M-3's reign. A lot of groups were taking in people from other organizations around that time, I gather. There was a lot of internal strife and warring going on, after all.

Just a lurker.
