I just want to approach one point made in the article. California taxing marijuana to help with the recession maybe practical but its bad policy. Vice taxes always fund the wrong things and contribute more to bloated bureaucracies.

Still it's has been a long time since anyone begged to be taxed.  These people actually want to be taxed.  I just read Oakland, California made some 1.5million dollars in sales tax.  Think of how much money that would translate into if they could pay federal tax.  Think about it, they really want to be taxed, and it is certainly better than this oxycotin.
