Through a video on social networks, gunmen armed with assault rifles warned that they are going for José Rodolfo Maldonado Bustos , aka “Don José”, who presumes leads a rival criminal group.

“Courage, courage, rage, pure people of Chito Cano. Cheer up! Pure four letters to the cock. There we go, José, son of your fucking mother, "you hear a man say on the recording.

In this mountain area, known for the sowing of drugs, have arrived in recent years hit men of Nemesio Oseguera, "El Mencho", who dispute the territory with the Michoacan Family cartel.

This last criminal cell had a presence in much of the Guerrero territory until 2011. One of its operators and the fourth man of importance within the cartel was Rodolfo Maldonado Bustos, known as José Pineda.

Originally from Ojo de Agua, municipality of Cutzamala de Pinzón, Guerrero, Maldonado Bustos has influence in Huetamo, San Lucas, Michoacán, Coyuca de Catalán, Tlapehuala, Tlalchapa and Arcelia.

In 2016, the federal government attributed to the narco leader the execution of former Pungarabato PRD mayor, Ambrosio Soto Duarte, as well as the murder of the former Coyuca de Catalán PRI, Abel Montufar Mendoza, and three soldiers who guarded the El Pozo ranch , owned by the Montufar family. Both cases were registered in May of last year.

Despite the accusations, José Pineda's group continues to operate with impunity in the region of Tierra Caliente.

In the last decade, Guerrero has been marked by drug trafficking violence, turning it into a cemetery .

Journalistic versions indicate that, for at least nine years and in the middle of the expansion campaign, the CJNG made alliances with La Familia Michoacana, the Sinaloa Cartel and the Los Granados group , to make progress in Guerrero.

But soon after, the CJNG broke its ties in search of controlling the state, considered a strategic point for the production and transfer of synthetic drugs , which is sent to the United States and Europe from the port of Lázaro Cárdenas, in Michoacán.

The Costa Grande is the most important drug transfer zone of the entity . It comprises 26 municipalities, including Chilpancingo, Tixtla, Chilapa, Atoyac de Álvarez, Benito Juárez, Petatlán, José Azueta (Zihuatanejo), Coyuca de Benítez, Tecpan de Galeana, Eduardo Neri, Heliodoro Castillo, Ahuacuotzingo and Olinalá. That is why the area is subject to bloody disputes between the cartels.

Another transcendental point for the narco (due to its location) is the zone of the Guerrerense Hot Land , integrated by the municipalities of Arcelia, Ajuchitlán del Progreso, Coyuca de Catalán, Cutzamala de Pinzón, Pungarabato, San Miguel Totolapan, Tlalchapa, Tlapehuala and Zirándaro . The region is considered highly dangerous.

The case of Acapulco may be the best known. The violent clashes, executions, attacks and shootings in the middle of the coast and around the port at the hands of organized crime have left hundreds of people dead, many more missing or injured.

The bloodshed caused, for years, governments of the United States and other countries to alert their citizens to avoid visiting the port, which led to an economic crisis for its inhabitants, which accentuated poverty.
