Retired DEA agent Mike Vigil claims La Muñeca was romantically involveed with El Chapo Guzman

Okay, so Maxim has named Ana Marie Hernandez "La Muñeca", who is wanted for smuggling thousands of kilos cocaine into the US from Mexico with her ex-husband Daniel Ledezma, the "World's Hottest Drug Trafficker".

Hernandez was captured in Chihuahua a few weeks ago, according to the Mexican Attorney General's Offfice [PGR]. She was wanted by federal authorities in El Paso after she fled to Mexico following a guilty plea to drug smuggling and bribery in 2013.

In the article, they mention a story in the San Antonio News-Express, which quotes retired DEA agent Mike Vigil, who frequently comments on cartel-related news out of Mexico, with varying degrees of accuracy. In this story he says that Ana Marie Hernandez worked for the Juarez cartel, before becoming an important trafficker for the Sinaloa organization.

He goes on to speculate that because of her beauty and the propensity for womanizing that Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman Loera is so famous for, that she may have had a romantic relationship with the capo. He goes on the speculate that her capture may be related to his escape.

Such rampant speculation, without an ounce of evidence, is just silly. But, that's just my humble opinion.

Is agent vigil alleging or has concrete evidence to back up his statement?  I wonder what else he has to say.

Cause on this post he's saying he's speculating cause of her beauty.

Vigil is kind of a loon prone to self promotion. However, he was a significant player in DEA operations in Colombia and Mexico, and in his book "Deal" he is a legend in his own mind.

What really makes me lose respect for him is his reaction to marijuana legalization, which he makes especially personal because he spent so many years making large pot busts in Colombia, and he is so proud of those wasted efforts.

Question to Mike Vigil: With the latest national elections, recreational marijuana will be legal in four states and Washington, D.C. How does that impact you? What do you think of this? You have spent a lot of time in the nation’s capital.

Mike Vigil's answer: The legalization of marijuana is a tragic decision for the U.S.  It is not a harmless drug and is highly addictive.  Legalization of drugs in other countries has had a very negative impact. The legalization taking place across the United States is a very well funded endeavor. They take advantage of the  people who don’t that understand marijuana is a potent drug.  When I came on with the DEA in the early 1970s the THC levels were like .08 to 1.3 at that time. Now the marijuana is being genetically engineered so those THC levels now exceed 30 percent. The thing is that marijuana is a hallucinogenic drug. A marijuana cigarette has four times the carcinogens of a regular tobacco cigarette. It has proven to be a gateway drug for use of other harder drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin.

From what I know, this lady is not the type that sleeps around like other ladies, she is very respected on the business.

On the marihuana issue, marihuana is by far less dangerous than tobacco and alcohol and actually higher levels of THC help reduce the effects of the carcinogens, or something similar hahaha, I'm no scientist.

There has never been a single recorded death linked to cannabis use, in 6,000 years of documented human consumption.

At the same time, over 5 million people die every year from illnesses related to tobacco use. Cigarette consumers who also smoke cannabis have a lower incidence of disease than those who only consume tobacco. There is no proof of a correlation, but it is very likely.

There are many reasons why marijuana is not worse
for you than smoking cigarettes. You may have heard
that “one joint is equal to ten cigarettes” but this is
exaggerated and misleading. Marijuana does contain more tar
than tobacco — but low tar cigarettes cause just as much
cancer, so what is that supposed to mean? Scientists have
shown that smoking any plant is bad for your lungs, because
it increases the number of ‘lesions’ in your small airways.
This usually does not threaten your life, but there is a
chance it will lead to infections. Marijuana users who are
worried about this can find less harmful ways of taking
marijuana like eating or vaporizing. (Be careful —
marijuana is safe to eat — but tobacco is not, you might
overdose!) Marijuana does not cause cancer the way
tobacco does, though.

Here is a list of interesting facts about marijuana smoking
and tobacco smoking:

Marijuana smokers generally don’t chain smoke,
and so they smoke less. (Marijuana is not physically
addictive like tobacco.) The more potent marijuana
is, the less a smoker will use at a time.

Tobacco contains nicotine, and marijuana doesn’t.
Nicotine may harden the arteries and may be
responsible for much of the heart disease caused by
tobacco. New research has found that it may also
cause a lot of the cancer in tobacco smokers and
people who live or work where tobacco is smoked.
This is because it breaks down into a cancer causing
chemical called `N Nitrosamine’ when it is burned
(and maybe even while it is inside the body as well.)

Marijuana contains THC. THC is a bronchial dilator,
which means it works like a cough drop and opens up
your lungs, which aids clearance of smoke and dirt.
Nicotine does just the opposite; it makes your lungs
bunch up and makes it harder to cough anything up.

Scientists do not really know what it is that causes
malignant lung cancer in tobacco. Many think it may
be a substance known as Lead 210. Of course, there
are many other theories as to what does cause cancer,
but if this is true, it is easy to see why no case of lung
cancer resulting from marijuana use alone has
ever been documented, because tobacco contains
much more of this substance than marijuana.

Marijuana laws make it harder to use marijuana
without damaging your body. Water-pipes are illegal
in many states. Filtered cigarettes, vaporizers, and
inhalers have to be mass produced, which is hard to
arrange `underground.’ People don’t eat marijuana
often because you need more to get as high that way,
and it isn’t cheap or easy to get (which is the
reason why some people will stoop to smoking leaves.)
This may sound funny to you — but the more legal
marijuana gets, the safer it is.
