CANCÚN, Q. ROO- With the "coup de grace" to the head, the bodies of a contractor identified as Rafael S.,35 years old, and a companion who remains unidentified.

Both bodies were found yesterday before noon, in a wooded area in front of the entrance to Bahía Petempich, in the municipality of Puerto Morelos.

According to the information obtained, the contractor left his home in Cancun in the morning on Tuesday and his family no longer heard from him.

On the night of the same day, at 9:34 p.m., elements of the Fire Department received a report of a vehicle fire in the El Pedregal neighborhood, near the “Ancona” auto parts store.

On board unit 950, the Firefighters attended the report, locating the already burned Atos-type vehicle, which was abandoned in the there.  Though unknown at the time, it was the contractor's vehicle.

Yesterday before noon, elements of the Municipal Police of Puerto Morelos received a report of two bodies  on a road that leads to a sascabera (limestone mine/quarry) near Bahía Petempich.

The policemen reached the street called Tikal, which is a wooded area and found the two bodies.

There were two men, both with their heads taped and with a firearm shot to the head.  The area was cordoned off and later, elements of the Investigative Police and criminal experts arrived, who made themselves in charge of crime scene processing.  The two bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for respective autopsies.

Unofficially, it appears that one of those executed is the contractor who disappeared in Cancun, and whose vehicle was found burned in the El Pedregal neighborhood.
