Culiacán, Sin.- Everything indicates that the supposed confrontation between elements of the Secretariat of the Navy and civilians in La Limita and Hitaje was not such thing, but a firing squad. The sailors executed in cold blood the four alleged sicarios who were at a party last Tuesday.
According to an article published by Ríodoce, what actually happened in La Limita was that the sailors arrived on the mountain to a party hall, where the birthday of a subject known as "el Jr" was celebrated. Around 22:30 hours on Tuesday, the sailors appeared in the place in a surprising way, arriving through an area that was climbed.
The four civilians who allegedly assaulted them were actually bodyguards of someone who was at the birthday party. When the military arrived at the site, they were subdued and shot.
According to testimonies of some settlers, the four armed subjects were kneeling in front of a fence, with their hands cuffed behind their backs and already disarmed. They shouted for mercy, but it was not granted. Shots were heard and then silence. Nobody asked for clemency anymore.
The official version speaks of a confrontation that took place early Wednesday, in which the Navy was in a surveillance operation when they met alleged assassins. However, the testimonies indicate that they arrived from the night of Tuesday in vehicles that seemed stolen.
In the same way they circulated two videos in which it is shown how the elements of the Navy have practically kidnapped people who were in the party room and even hit a person who claims not to know where the "M" is located, whom the military looked for.
Of what happened in the videos there is no official version.
On the facts, in addition to the press conference offered by the Public Security Secretariat in Sinaloa, no other official agency offered new information or confirmed anything.
For the authorities, the events occurred on Wednesday morning and the sailors acted in self-defense.

"Criminal groups seek to generate legitimacy by providing livelihoods, social mobility, physical security and protection of property, or even social services such as disaster relief (the Yakuza), welfare payments (criminal groups in Colombia) or medical services (Haitian gangs).
Once criminal groups are seen as providers of livelihoods and public goods and services, the state is confronting a true rival for its population's allegiance. And once that rival is seen as an alternative source of norms, the state is in deep trouble: when a government loses its power to secure support for the norms it promotes, then it is 'on the road to having to rely on brute force'."
