Michoacan: Here We Go Again

El Guero
I'm starting this thread to discuss all aspects of the war for Michoacan.  I don't know nearly as much about this plaza and the groups fighting for control of it as many of you do.  It seems to me to be the most difficult plaza not only to take but to understand as well.

It seemed to be relatively quiet for a while but now with Mencho being at war with not only Los Viagras but now Abuelo as well, it seems like it is poised to blow up. ...yet again.

Some of the questions I have about how this battle will proceed:

-What are the relationships between various Michoacan factions?
-Relationship between El Abuelo and Los Viagras?
-Does Abuelo have a relationship with Dr Moreles?  If so what is
it like considering Abuelo is a narco?
-Who is alligned with Mencho in Michoacan?

-Who controls what areas of Michoacan?
-Who do Abuelo & Viagras work with to move product North since
    they have no border crossings?
-Who controls the police and military in what areas?
-Will the government get involved again and to what degree?
-Is it possible that the GOVERNMENT will INTERVENE to give the
    plaza to CJNG?

Just a few of the things I'm wondering vis-a-vis the Michoacan plaza.  This plaza has always perplexed me and I can't seem to wrap my head around the nuances of how it works and who is working with who.

Thanks!

I possibly know more about jal/mic and gro/mich than anyone at BB, I had a close relationship with Doc Mireles until the day of his arrest.  In fact that famous last foto of him at the rally just before his arrest he sent to me a couple hrs before he was arrested.  they were to have a vote that night if the people wanted to organize AD.  this was the coastal mich which had the genuine AD.

I became concerned when castillo announced publicly that they were in possession of Doc's Samsung and we investigating those he communicated with as we communicated almost each day at the last months and regularly up until then.   It is against the rules of visa that a foreigner become involved with politics in Mexico and I had a friend deported for that while working with EZLN in chiapas.  He was not political just hjelping with resources, as I did, building schools etc.

So I was worried.  But castillo  was blowing smoke.

Abuelo and americano were the only two disagreements doc and I had.  I said they were 100 percent narcos and connected to viagras.  viagras had a 60 truck convoy to go after lito mora who had to be airlifted out___americano was leading that convoy.

Doc explain the unusual relationship between the people and some narcos.  in this case abuelo who he had known all of his life.

The people of tepeque love and always have loved abuelo.  they know he and his family are narcos, but he and his family protect the people and the city.  They work with abuelo towards that goal.  the people who refuted mencho a couple days ago we a nix of narcos and residents.  you can see the mix of weaponry.  ar15 and regular long rifles.

the gob ignores the security of the people in mich.  so as it is explained to me, yes we know some people are narcos and traffic drugs, but what would you do  if you have no police or military helping and people that are drug traffickers but never hurt residents offer to protect?

I can answer your questions when i have more time.

Great synopsis. With respect to Abuelo, does he generally leave the citizens alone and just concentrate on trafficking?  If that's the case, then I could see why he is tolerated, if not outright accepted.

AD has been in mexico for over 100 years, presently in 13 states.
saying the movement was genuine or fraudulent shows me a person who knows nothing.  it is very complicated.  and not one or the other

i know more than i want to know about that snake.  so we will just agree to disagree.  i did not say I knew more than anyone don't put words in my mouth I said at BB i probably do.
I did more than email, take the blinders off mr. assumption.

if you have something concrete to add go for it.  but if you are quoting him we do not use anyone connected to breitbart on bb

you can email me if you would like to discuss further and i can explain my roe during that time.

Yes!  I have a post in draft about the appointment....he looks happy.  Even before he was arrested he predicted he would be killed or arrested.  He then told me that if he was arrested he probably would never be able to work the two years he needed to satisfy seniority requirements to receive his pension.

this appointment should take care of that issue...

Cant wait to read the article and see what his appointment will be.  Hopefully one where he can actually make a difference

In a country where everyone is eithet corrupted, killed, or scared into submission, he seemed like a shining beacon of hope.

He was actually appointed a month ago. I had read about it, and wondered if there would be an article here about it. My wait is over

Re: Michoacan: Here We Go Again

Just found this quote from the governor of Michoacan:

To this call for help, the governor of Michoacán, Silvano Aureoles, replied: “They have never wanted and there is the result. Now that the threats begin, the municipal president begins desperate to ask that we go to protect them. That is a perverse strategy because it wants the government to protect the lair of another criminal group. ”

Sounds like the Governor may be on CJNGs side here.

chava posted a article about doc mireles fighting with his ex----don't click on I got a couple of viruses
go to el universal instead.

But it will not be posted here because it is about personal life and not AD or narcos.  he has been fighting with his ex and one daughter for years.  it was they who collected money on his behalf when not even speaking to him.

Sorry about posting an article that shouldn't be here. I saw one about his new job with the government ISSSTE that was posted....certainly *that* is personal and not AD or narco related.

The link I posted *was* from El Universal. Not sure what or how you got viruses......but, be assured, my link was from El Universal. I still have it up in a browser window.

it should be ok and clearly the story is out there, but we learned nothing good can come of it...ask Mica.  Somehow bickering between ex's is rather boring to me.  In this case ana has more power in the city since there are many of her family there.

but it is personal not more than that.  I say leave him live a life he has paid dearly for the privilege

the bigger issue is the  link you sent came up as mircrosoft cleaning tool which triggered Norton to go off all over the place and  froze the page.  so i found it on el universal....

we are sent each post to our inbox to peruse --- and each and every comment

Re: Michoacan: Here We Go Again

I truly apologize if that is the case. If you still have the link could you forward it to my email? The one on file with BB is fine.
As a former computer tech support person, I'm am anal about links, viruses, spams etc.

EDIT: I looked back in my history and it was a link from Diario de Yucatan --- no clue why it would show viruses on your side, but again, I apologize. I have it up with no issues on my computer.

No need to apologize at all....I am not sure but my IT guy said to switch to this Norton, it maybe overly sensitive IDK but the virus was stopped and isolated the virus and completely froze the page.

Did something about microsoft clean come up?

I will send to you
