The Tirso Martinez-Sanchez drug trafficking organization (MSO) is an extensive transnational narcotics importation, distribution, and transportation organization that is responsible for distributing multi-tons of cocaine into the United States and Europe. The MSO receives cocaine directly from Colombia and imports the drugs from Mexico through California and Texas overland to large distribution centers in metropolitan United States cities.
The MSO uses a network of large warehouses to store and distribute cocaine in Mexico and the United States. The organization operates a network of front companies to purchase or lease these instrumentalities and to purchase “cover loads” or legitimate goods that are stored and transported with the narcotics to mask the narcotics shipment. The MSO transports cocaine through ocean vessels, tractor-trailers, and railroad tanker cars. It is believed that between 2000 and 2003, the MSO’s railroad network imported, transported, and distributed approximately 76 metric tons of cocaine into the United States.

Tirso Martinez-Sanchez is the leader of the MSO and is believed to also act as an importer, transporter, and distributor for other large narcotics traffickers, such as the Juarez cartel, members of the Federation, and Colombian traffickers Victor and Miguel Mejia-Munera. Martinez-Sanchez is responsible for organizing the laundering and remittance of millions of dollars drug proceeds back to Mexico. Martinez-Sanchez is indicted out of the Eastern District of New York.

The U.S. Department of State is currently offering a REWARD OF UP TO $5 MILLION for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of TIRSO MARTINEZ-SANCHEZ.

So what role would the cartel have in these transactions? Would they just handle the financing of the loads?

Tirso had strong ties to Mexican soccer teams

Tirso Martínez Sánchez had strong ties to football. He was the director of the Club Irapuato in early 2002, around the time that the club got its promotion to the First Division after beating Leon. The jeweler Kléber Mayer was also on the board.

"The Footballer" was a describing nickname. A decade ago he was also considered owner of Querétaro, where he presumably laundered money as in Irapuato and Celaya. Queretaro and Irapuato were disaffiliated in July 2004.

He paid cash dollars and pesos to his players and used Argentine promotors as official operators for clubs that participated in the Mexican football. These promoters he met when they brought players like Josemir Lujambio, Cristian Traverso and Diego Garay, among others.

This was stated by a former player of Irapuato from the time Tirso was the owner of the Strawberries, and he asked his name to be withheld.

"When Mr. Tirso got to the Stadium, he could hardly be seen and rarely came down to greet us," he confessed.

"(He) looked around at parties, we did not see him very often, but he was nearly always on matches," said the player exclusively.

The former player who was for a while with Irapuato said he never noticed anything unusual except for the manner in which they paid him and the rest of his teammates.

He accounted that the money was received in cash and usually the payment was made on board vehicles.

[Bjeff: Obviously Tirso laundered drug money through soccer. The rest of the story was too hard to translate, but did not seem too relevant]

Tirso, a capo high hidden level in Leon

PABLO CESAR CARRILLO
2/11/14 5:23 AM

His name was spoken softly Tirso. The police chiefs and insiders who had heard of him in Leon, mentioning it, without making much noise and turning to all sides: "It's too dangerous. Tirso is a heavy drug. And he lives here. "

Five years ago, I heard for the first time in León.

It was almost normal life, it seems. He walked in restaurants and stores. For once there said they saw him in the gym. Maintained some relationship with the world of cocks. And lived with some people in the north of the city. But almost no one mentioned his name. It was high risk. "It's untouchable. No one can mess with it. It has been seen in Leon, here is hidden, "he once told an official.

Tirso León reached seven years ago.

It came from Tijuana. Lived there in 2006. They say the yacht where he was captured Javier Arellano Felix, El Tigrillo, in international waters of Baja California Sur, was Tirso. And then from there he went to Guadalajara, its square. Although he had many outstanding bills, so he chose to come to Leon. This never made noise. It was never news. His name never appeared publicly. And it was not officially mentioned by the authorities in any violent act.

It was like a ghost. They knew it existed, but no one dared to denounce it, much less to chase. There was never an operation to look, not a judicial action. Tirso lived quiet in León. Sometimes he was seen accompanied by bodyguards and beautiful women in public places.

It's a great shooter. Legend has it that shoots high-precision rifles and pistol. It has a great shot. And therefore, few dared to mess with him. The Knights Templar respected him. Leon came to Michoacan in 2008 and took the square, but not challenged. The Knights moved the narco-shops and extortion, Tirso, however, moved in larger leagues. Theirs was the world market. Send tons of cocaine to the United States and Europe. Tirso wasted no time in drug dealing or SMEs. He was a tall bonnet. A man able to talk to Amado Carrillo (his friend), with Arturo Beltran Leyva (his friend) and the Arellano Félix. He was a great negotiator.

He was also a passionate gallero. It had to do with breeding roosters Jalisco and used to walk in fights. The Feria de León, was frequent customer. Bet million in one night. And up to 25 punters had their orders in a season.

Here also applied its law. Connoisseurs of the underworld, they blamed Leon for several executions, especially those carried out by gunmen on a motorcycle. "It was the people of Tirso" experts used to say, without having way of showing it. "It went wrong with Tirso". "It was a reckoning of Tirso". "I sent Tirso kill." Tirso's hand stuck in everyday life. "It was Tirso" they said. Always quietly.
