Jonathan “El Pantera” was captured in Cancún by Quintana Roo state police during a security operation. El Pantera is the designated plaza boss of Los Pelones, which operates in nearby Playa del Carmen. The state attorney general reported the man was wanted for attempted murder.
El Pantera is also linked to several other acts of cartel violence, including the killing of a Colombian female in September. The female allegedly received extortion and death threats, according to an official press release. At the time of his arrest, El Pantera had a firearm and a small quantity of cocaine.

Benito Juarez. - The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports that, as a result of research, intelligence, cabinet and follow-up work of the State Coordination Board formed by the Secretariat of State Public Security,
National Guard and Federal Police enforced an arrest warrant against Jonathan "N" aka "The Panther" for the crime of attempted murder.
“El Pantera” is said to be the chief of the criminal group known as “Los Pelones” in the Municipality of Solidaridad.
At the time of his arrest, he carried a firearm and several wrappers with drugs, with all the characteristics of cocaine and marijuana.
According to the first inquiries, Jonathan “N” is identified as being a subject of high danger, generator of violent events in the northern state, mainly in the municipality of Solidaridad.
His capture is related to an event that occurred in the Zone known as In House on January 28 of this year, where he attacked a group of people who were on public roads shooting them with a firearm.
He is also linked to a malicious homicide that occurred on September 12 in the same area of In House in the municipality of Solidaridad.
Likewise, their participation in the femicide of a young woman from Colombia is presumed, who, before being deprived of life, received extortive messages and according to witnesses came from a telephone of the now captured.
The victim's body was located on September 17.
