Anyone know anything about this Tlahuac Cartel? I'm assuming it is a smaller, regional group in the DF/EdoMex area based on the story. Haven't heard much about them previously, however. Anyone who has info, please share.
Elements of the Homicide Prosecutor's office detained four members of a criminal gang dedicated to drug trafficking between the country's capital and the State of Mexico, said the Attorney General of the State of Mexico, Alejandro Gómez Sánchez.
In a press conference, he explained that these are two men and two women operated in the Tláhuac delegation and the Mexiquense municipality of Valle de Chalco.
During their arrest, they were seized along with 146 kilograms of marijuana, two firearms and 150 cartridges of various calibers of ammunition.
After being presented to the Public Ministry, it was found that the two men are related to at least four homicides that occurred between December 2016 and February 2017, in Valle de Chalco. It was precisely because of these murders that they were identified and their accomplices were charged for crimes against health.
As for the murders, in both cases, there were cards left behind in which the alleged criminal group called "CT" (Cartel de Tláhuac) took responsibility for the actions.
Thus, personnel in charge of the case determined that the criminal gang had origins in the Tláhuac delegation and carried out fieldwork and intelligence that allowed them to establish that the now detained individuals operated in the border area with Valle de Chalco against rival groups.
"It was through the Chalco-Tláhuac highway that the CT moved large amounts of drugs, using a car labeled as a taxi from Mexico City, and a private car of wine color, both without circulation plates," said Gómez Sánchez.
During an operation implemented in Mexican territory, the Specialized Homicide Prosecutor of the Valley of Mexico detained Ramiro "N." and Julia Ivonne "N.", on March 16, at the place known as "Paso del Toro" When they were on board the taxi. Both said they were a couple.
On the other hand, another group of police located Edgar Iván "N." and Beatriz Susana "N." in a second car in the San Miguel Xico colony, and likewise, they marked the stop to proceed to the routine review, during which they confiscated, together, 23 packages wrapped with cinnamon tape of alleged marijuana, 120 grams of drug "krystal", an AK-47 with a magazine loaded with 20 cartridges, a .38 caliber revolver, 4 long gun chargers, 44 Chargers with useful cartridges 7.62, 73 cartridges 2.23, 15 cartridges 45 gauge, a tear gas grenade and two bulletproof vests.
The four were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry of the Federation, along with the seized merchandise, where they were linked to the process. However, in the case of Edgar Ivan and Ramiro, an arrest warrant for the crime of homicide is pending.
