Flying the Mexican Flag at F-1 in Austin with the Pot Leaf Emblem
The afternoon of Friday, November 15, the General Consulate of Mexico in Austin, Texas, expressed their annoyance to the organizers of the Grand Prix of Formula 1 to the misuse of the national flag at the international car race.
"The Consulate General of Mexico in Austin has transmitted to the organizers of the Grand Prix of Formula 1 deep annoyance of the Government of Mexico by the improper use of the flag in two of the trading posts in the interior of this event. They presented a verbal protest by this unacceptable incident and has demanded that it be corrected immediately,"said the representation of Mexico in that city.
As a result of the complaint the English team McLaren decided to withdraw flags had placed in their warehouses, which showed the figure of a marijuana leaf next to the coat of arms.

Later, McLaren team rep. said in a statement that the flags of Mexico with a picture of a marijuana leaf emblem stuck next to the shield were not carried out by the team.
"Flags not were neither manufactured nor authorized by McLaren. Our preliminary investigation indicates that a third party contractor also ordered items and an additional third party manufactured,"reported the team in the statement posted on theirTwitter account,
