With fake Facebook job ads, a cartel "recruits" new members
The dismantling of training camps of the New Generation Jalisco Cartel made it clear that social networks are beginning to be used to recruit new members, whom they first kidnap and, if they do not accept to be part, they are murdered.
Facebook job ads were posted where they offered jobs to be part of a private security company, with salaries of up to 4,000 pesos weekly, says Jalisco prosecutor Eduardo Almaguer.
The official explains that according to the testimony of six victims, they were told that the training is in the city of Tala, but there they are kidnapped and forced them to join the cartel.
They are tortured, threatened and some even have to witness the murder of other people.
Almaguer said that the cell that was in charge of the camps in Tala, which were dismantled in the last two weeks by elements of the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of National Defense, is considered the most bloodthirsty of the criminal group.
He is credited with the ambush and murder of four soldiers who took place in May 2014 in Huachingo.
Well technically the ad wasn't lying (but misleading).CJNG has lots of private security and they are a 'private company'(open secret ) and the training was in Tala.Really shitty for the recruits though.Glad they were rescued.Does this remind 1 of the Zeta's recruiting?Didn't they have a billboard with a phone # for a job?
I do find all this a little hard to believe (CJNG lying and posting fake wanted adds to recruit) since I know cats that would JUMP at the chance to work for them and make narco money if asked. But I guess there must be some truth to this if its being reported by multiple sources. And yes, completely sounds like what the dirty ass Zetas used to do to recruit.
