CHIHUAHUA, May 22. - The secretary to the mayor of Valle de Allende in the state of Chihuahua, Fernando Unzueta Jesus Villanueva, was executed in the city of Parral, on his way to a meeting with the state governor, Cesar Duarte Jaquez.

The report of the DPP said that the attack occurred when the official convoy traveling in the municipality of Valle de Allende to the city of Parral, where other mayors would be with the president at a  Chihuahuan meeting to change the  baton of the 42 military zone.



The armed attack occurred at  South Zone Cereso in the city of Parral,  with armed commandos on board two vehicles overtook and shot at the pickup truck Unzueta Villanueva was traveling in.

A white 2007 Silverado  truck cab and a half model, went off the asphalt and stopped at a stream. Initially it was reported as a rollover, but on arrival the officers realized it was an execution.



Just in month of November last year, 2011, the public safety director of the municipality of Valle de Allende, Baylón Caesar Hernandez, 40, was also shot dead.

During the week, two other officials have been executed

On 19 May this year, the head of public security department of the municipality of Guadalupe y Calvo, Eleazar Martinez Salas was executed , after receiving a spray of shots.

A day earlier, in the same city,  the Director of Planning, Leonel Madrigal Silva, was executed .

Concerning these recent killings of local officials, Governor Duarte Jaquez said to the prosecutor that instructions have been accurate in the Southern Zone in order to be achieve a timely follow-up to the violent events of recent days where several public officials have lost their life.

Anyone else think that the shooters were either standing and fired out of a sunroof or the bed of the trucks or they put rounds in the car after it rolled down the hill. just judging by the bullet holes in the roof?

I was thinking the same thing - otherwise it would've been virtually impossible to get those bullet holes so far on the roof.  Unless they drove up to the truck once it flew off the road and unloaded their cartridges.

if you look closely a lot of those bullet holes on the roof are exit holes (not all though), and you can see the metal pointing up a bit...so maybe they (bullets that is) came in somewhat eye/body level and where redirected....then again???? Just my two cents, which happen to be a bunch of damn, Nepalese coins.

probably just got sprayed from an automatic weapon, some of the shots went on the roof.  Either war, who.why is killing the officals?

In that Juarez documentary I was ranting about in another post, Bowden had a hilarious quote, which I laughed out loud at, which I was reminded of, reading this story.

Two trucks pull up, one in front to slow down the car the other on the side. One sprays from the side, the other has people in the truck bed shooting from the front. Recoil from rifle runs up the front into the roof. In the first picture you can kind of see how the bullets are moving up the front as the shooter sprays and the recoil kicks up his shot.
