-Almost every day, Rodriguez said, Chapo would call him with questions about the spyware, which was linked to a computer where the kingpin could view reports on the text messages and G.P.S. locations generated by what he liked to call his “special phones.”
-Eventually, the reports became so bulky that Chapo assigned one of his other techies to read them and give him daily summaries.
-At one point, he asked Rodriguez to install a new feature on the phones, allowing him to remotely and secretly activate their microphones.
-Chapo would play a little game.
-He would call people who had the “special” phones and chat with them a while then hang up, secretly activate the mic and listen to what they said about him.
-Rodriguez said Chapo once asked him how long it would take to make a computer “special” too.
-This took place while Rodriguez was at one of Chapo's hide-outs in the mountains. A woman was also there with them.
-When the techie told kingpin it would only take three minutes to install the spyware on the woman's computer, Chapo ordered him to do it.
-“El Chapo distracted the woman and I installed the spy software,” Rodriguez said.
-Rodriguez is going to be on the stand tomorrow too.
-We'll likely hear more not only about Chapo's snooping, but also the story of how Rodriguez was recruited by the feds to turn on his employer. And then had a mental breakdown when the cartel went after him.
*****A mental breakdown, I get that. The defense will try and penetrate this but will have to do so carefully. The chances that someone on the jury knows or has a family member that experienced a mental breakdown is possible. The same theatrical questioning that the defense did on the FBI agent this morning, will not play well.
-These are some of the messages between Guzmán Loera ("J") and his wife Emma Coronel Aispuro ("RC", "Las Reynaas" and "RC Emaly and Maria Joaqina"). "Kiki" is María Joaquina, one of her 7-year-old twins.
-At first, Christian Rodriguez spoke almost inaudibly. Even the judge (who has been habitually lenient with soft-spoken witnesses) asked him to speak up. But once he dove into the intricacies of El Chapo's I.T. system, his voice rose with clarity and confidence – another person.
-Christian Rodriguez is such a valued witness – credited with helping bring down Jorge Cifuentes - the government not only paid him to continue working with Chapo and the Cifuentes clan, but they’re also considering giving him a $5 million award for it, too. (We met Jorge a few weeks ago.)
-The FBI agent said that Christian Rodriguez deserved the $5 million reward - he’d even put him up for it, along with two others that helped bring down the Cifuentes family. “I think his efforts were pretty extraordinary in helping us capture Jorge Cifuentes,” he said.
-Christian Rodriguez took what we’ve come to know as the usual transportation method for Chapo meetings: via small plane on clandestine airstrip into the Northwestern mountains of Mexico. He met Chapo in 2008 for a face-to-face sales pitch. It would be the first of many meetings.
-The question of why El Chapo's wife showed up in court today for the humiliating ordeal of having not just her own private text messages w/him revealed to the world, but also those of him and mistress is an utterly fascinating one.
-Here are some theories.
-The main idea is that she must, at all costs, be seen to be standing by her man. This is not just lip-service, Tammy Wynette stuff, but in essence a matter of survival.Emma Coronel almost certainly relies financially on whatever remains of Chapo's fortune.
-There's also the issue of actual survival. When Chapo gets convicted it will shift the politics of the cartel in a way that could prove dangerous to Emma. She needs allies. One way to keep them is to show that's sticking by El Chapo.
-She's clearly caught in a hurricane of competing forces. And despite the fact that she was deeply implicated in Chapo's criminal enterprise, there's something sympathetic about her, in the way she's shown that she's going to gut this one out.
so why didnt the FBI go the legal way and serve FLEXiSPY demanding the information for the accounts . obviously Rodriguez is not the creator of FLEXISPY or IT super guy he was just third party person more like HR departmentent for CDS because ignorant Guzman cant download an app or install free software .FLEXISPY has feature spoof SMS contestin that text msg was not Guzman or emma would not be a bad idea.FbI operating really wreckless in my opinion
Damaso Lopez Serrano el Mini Licenciado, his father was the one that went against chapos sons and Mayo to try to take over the cartel and failed miserably.El mini licenciado was the one that turned himself in to the D.E.A. when there was nowhere else to run, because his father got caught in DF,and they burned all his properties in El Dorado and were about to kill him.He was just a punk narco-junior that got everything handed to him if you ask me,never put in any work, and showed off on Instagram way too much, with fancy cars, gold plated Aks, and shit tons of daddys money but not a real gangster, just a poser, evidently he didn't want no war with the Chapitos or Mayo ,Im surprised they didn't murk his ass before he turned himself in,well his daddy got life in prison in Virgina if Im correct but Mini Lic is going to be snitching like a mutha to get the least time possible.Like my people say you do the crime you do the time, saludos from Dallas Tx, and awesome reporting on the chapo case Mica, saludos Chivis and all the people contributing to BB,much love and respect from D-Town. Peace
Yes I found that stood out a lot that Cholo's always asking for money which I came to 1 of 2 conclusions;possibly that Chapo doesn't pay on a regular basis and is always behind or that Cholo has maybe a little too many vices.I will bet a lot that has come out that Chapo is maybe shocked at that he was even taped by the FBI.Boy this is probably enough excitement for Chapo like the old days.Well Chapo enjoy it while it lasts as this will be the most excitement you will see for the rest of your life as you wind down in your senior years you will be bored out of your mind for what seems an eternity.
1. They already had Rodriguez, he informed them of the FlexiSpy after agreeing to inform.
2. Flexispy is out of Thailand, not an easy task and time was a factor.
3. The typical kneejerk reaction is to go to Flexispy, potentially tipping off Guzman and putting Rodriguez in danger.
4. The FBI played their hand very well; nobody has ever spoken of these messages and these messages alone make the case extremely difficult for the defense.
5. Also, Chapo now appears as a womanizer to the NY liberal #metoo juror (if that person exists in the box).
ML is Mini Lic, son of Lic who helped Chapo escape. @FernDogg has described him very well. Only thing to add is Mini Lic is also the Godson of Chapo.
I know, how great was yesterday! I would expect more of the same today with cross-examination.
