Police dogs detected 1.5 tons of marijuana that was being transported on a train in Culiacán.

The commander of the 94th Infantry Battalion, Humberto Zerón Martínez, reported that the drug was located on Wednesday night in the Ferromex courtyards.

He mentioned that the train came from Guadalajara and had as destination the north of the country.

Military, state and binomial canine elements, he said, began to check the wagons and one of the dogs named Bruno alerted the agents.

"This specific car was revised, which was supposed to be empty, however, the canófilo binomial marked positive. The car was opened and the drug was found here, "he said.

The Undersecretary of Public Safety, Prevention and Social Reintegration, Carlos Alberto Hernández Leyva, commented that 150 packages with an approximate weight of 10 kilograms each were detected.

Regarding the seizure, he added that the competent authority was informed, which will be in charge of quantifying the drug and defining legal responsibilities against whoever is responsible.

El 17, alot of people don't want to pay the American prices.  What's legal in the usa goes through so much regulation, taxation, etc. that drives the price up, besides the smaller farm production.  Mexico has worked hard to improve their weed to make it more competitive.  They grow pot in the National Forests here and even supply legal shops.  Black market weed is by far more available than domestic product and at better prices.
