Durango, Dgo

Public security authorities said that the blankets with intimidating messages correspond to clashes between groups of organized crime and denied there is a real threat from the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel.

During the previous weekend, in various parts of the city, blankets were seen warning that the Jalisco cartel was already in Duranguense territory and would perform a "clean".

The fact undoubtedly caused concern among the population, who foresaw a possible new stage of violence in the streets of the city, where shootings and executions would be once again protagonists of everyday life.

Yesterday at a press conference, the State Attorney General, Ruth Medina Alemán, the Secretary of State Public Security, Francisco Javier Castrellón Garza, as well as the Director of Public Safety of Durango, Óscar Galván Villarreal, released details of the detention of six people presumably related to the fact.

In the offices of the C-5 the holder of the SSP presented images of the video surveillance cameras to explain the modus operandi of these people, who would have used a black Avalanche truck with foreign license plates to move from one place to another.

The first blanket was placed at dawn on October 14 at Sahuatoba Park; immediately on the 16th other blankets were placed, now in the Guadiana park and the corner that forms the streets of November 20 and Constitution, outside of the Cathedral.

In all cases, the black Avalanche truck was observed and it was the first sign that led the authorities to make six arrests.

Already with the characteristics of the vehicle, support was requested to police corporations to locate the unit and were elements of the municipal police who located the truck in the colony Hector Mayagoitia, north of the city.

The director of Municipal Public Safety, Oscar Galván, explained that after the officers marked the stop, they started the escape but they were reached and with the support of more police units the arrest was achieved.

The Attorney General, Ruth Medina Alemán, pointed out that the people who were presented before the public prosecutor's agent, were charged with crimes against the security of the community, as well as crimes against health.

At the time of their arrest, they were allegedly found in possession of a kilogram of 445 grams of marijuana as well as synthetic drug packets.

It was specified during the meeting with the media, that the blankets were intended to create fear among rival groups of the same cartel.

Likewise, it was assured that the investigations carried out indicate that a person originally from another state of the country was the one who would have financed the placement of the blankets in the city.

It was ruled out that there is an intention on the part of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel to enter Duranguense soil, as announced in the blankets that were placed and caused fear among the population.

The people are tired of and desensitized by the mantas anyhow. I think at this point they have lost their effectiveness with actually getting through to the people, let alone the rivals.

The only thing I see happening is the smart ones who keep their mouths shut getting a kick out of the ghetto blankets with horrible grammar.
It matters not how a man dies, but how he lives.
