Bodies found in mass graves of Tamaulipas reach el DF
Shortly after 02:00 am on Thursday the trailer carrying 76 corpses which were found in clandestine graves in San Fernando, Tamaulipas reached the Federal District
After more than 12 hours away, the heavy unit, with its container refrigeration, arrived escorted by police to the capital's Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) of the Federal District in the Colonia Doctores.
According to information, the bodies will be taken first to an embalming located at the intersection of Dr. Jimenez and Dr. Olvera, where they will receive appropriate treatment.
They would then be admitted to Semefo building, where they remain under guard and legal disposal of the Attorney General's Office (PGR).
The local Public Security Ministry and the Federal Police reported no incidents during shipment and arrival of the trailer.
The number of victims found in mass graves in the town of San Fernando, Tamaulipas, grew to 126 yesterday after another 10 bodies were found in a new grave.
At night, the Attorney General's Office, Marisela Morales Ibáñez, announced that 16 local policemen in the municipality of San Fernando were arrested and are accused by the Federal Public Ministry to protect and cover up the criminal gang known as Los Zetas, attributed to the 126 murders.
