F rancisco Ernesto Ruiz , singer of the band Cuisillos , was shot dead in an assault on his private home by a group of strangers.
The events occurred on Samuel Ramos Street, between Monte Olivetti and Monte Carmelo, five blocks from Estadio Jalisco. So far it is known that he was resting in his home when three subjects attempted to break the estate, according to his wife.
It is believed that he resisted and then fired point-blank at the skull. He lay face down, lying in the middle of the garage, lifeless.
On September 19, 2016 he had become a father with the birth of little Ernesto Gael.
Thanks for posting this. This was really shocking news last week. Los Cuisillos are one of the only banda groups I really like. It took place in Guadalajara.
The original version of events, which described a failed or botched robbery, has now been mostly rejected. It now appears this was a planned assassination. The attorney general for the state says Ruiz was in his garage when two men approached him, entering the garage. He attempted to run into his house, but he was shot twice in the head.
At this point Ruiz's side job, selling autos, is being examined as a possible source for the motive of the killing. The band does not perform or record narco corridos.
This link also says there is a video of the two killers leaving the scene in a vehicle, but it has not been released to the public.
