Army elements secured between a load of avocados, more than 800 kilograms of cocaine in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, reported the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena).
The drug was intercepted at the Military Strategic Security Post "Cucapah", which reviews vehicles through the use of gamma ray inspection equipment.
"Inconsistencies were detected in the load of a tractor trailer that transported avocados, from Tancítaro, Michoacán to Tijuana, Baja California.
"The soldiers made a more thorough review of the load of avocados, locating 803 packages made with carbon paper and transparent nylon, which contained a white powder with the characteristics of cocaine, which shed an approximate weight of 803 kilos ", detailed the Sedena.
The driver of the truck was arrested in flagrante delicto and, together with the 803 drug packages, were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities in Hermosillo.
