6 tons busted in San Diego???

Tijuano
Anyone heard anything about this?

There´s a story floating around about 6 tons of weed busted two weeks ago in San Diego belonging to alleged Arellano Felix associates, especially a guy named Avelino Montoya who is supposed to be a business man in Baja Sur and brother-in-law of PAN Sentator Carlos Mendoza Davis who is believed to be the front runner for PAN´s governor candidacy next year for Baja Sur.

Now, all I could find was from a website called Puronarco.com so I don´t know what to make of this, I find it strange that nothing about that alleged bust has been heard in TJ, maybe there´s something to it, or maybe it´s just another political fight where they try to link a rival with a drug gang.

Anyone heard anything in California about it?

So it turns out this was true.

Abelino Montoya Saracho was recently sentenced to 18 months for drug trafficking.

Montoya Saracho is indeed a relative of Carlos Mendoza Davis and was busted with almost 7 tons of weed in San Diego when he crossed the border aboard a semi truck loaded with 6639 kilos of weed and was detected by a NSA drone.

According to the DEA, Montoya Saracho is part of the Arellano Felix Organization and is closely associated with Edgardo Leyva Escandon.

Carlos Mendoza Davis is currently the front runner in the Baja California Sur Governor race.

When news of this broke out, Mendoza Davis admitted knowing Montoya(His wife´s sister is married with Montoya) but denied having contact with him since he moved to Tijuana.

This week ZETA published an article regarding some intercepted calls from Mendoza and in one of them he talks briefly with PAN Senator Ernesto Cordero who basically tells him to admit knowing Montoya or people will believe he(Mendoza Davis) is PAN´s Abarca.

As a curious note, ZETA is reporting all their latest issue in Baja Sur were bought in large quantities by armed men, and in some cases, they were stolen. Maybe its related to this, maybe to the article about "El 28" from Damaso, who knows.

Speaking of curious notes... how can 6 or 7 tons of mexican weed get sold in California or anywhere else for that matter.  There is good weed everywhere.  This is very curious to me.  Who buys and smokes it?

Thanks for the update. Although collusion between traffickers and politicos is endemic all over, it seems to be almost a prerequisite in Baja, and in Baja Sur apparently.

This article connects Mendoza with Damaso Lopez of Sinaloa. Also, 18 months seems like kind of light sentence for 7 tons, even if it was only mota.

I know a guy pulling 20 years for conspiracy to grow weed, and all they found was 1 plant. The poor guy gave up everything he owned including his home, and this was the deal he agreed to so his wife would get off with only 10 years.

Even in California poor people smoke brick weed, and in most of the country it's what is available. That is changing, but if you spend some time in the deep South, you will be happy to smoke brick weed after a few months without anything.

Los jamaicos buy that shit in bulk for two reasons it's cheap and they are cheap.  A few years ago when i was pushing out in Los   they would come out from places like ny or jersey and they would look for az or Reggie to take back home but this fools would come up looking for like 200 or more at a time. Back then la gabacha ( weed grown in Cali but outdoors). Was only like around 750 per lb when you were talking those kind of numbers and fake ass az (it was really Reggie but packed in colchones size instead of pillow size).  Was going for about 650 or 700  depending on the day of the week.  And no matter how much you tried to explain to this mothafukas that if they spent the extra fifty  they would get a much better product they would not have it.
