Wednesday, January 23, 2019

Chicken contaminated with methamphetamines caused 17 people, including a minor, to be intoxicated in the municipality of Nuevo Casas Grandes. The authorities investigated the rotisserie where the product was purchased.

The health alert was issued after 17 people went to the IMSS Hospital in the same place with the same symptoms: agitation, tachycardia and insomnia, for which an anti-doping test was carried out to which they tested positive for methamphetamines.

It was a street vendor who sold the chicken

Alma Rosa Valles, head of the Fifth Sanitary Jurisdiction, said that the cases began to be detected on Sunday night, and when making the first questions, the common factor among the patients was the chicken consumption of a street stall.

Those affected received medical attention in the IMSS hospitals and a 57-year-old woman had to be transferred to a hospital in Ciudad Juarez, since she had a cerebral hemorrhage caused by the substance in the chicken; the rest of the patients were controlled in the place.
