Anonymous tip leads police to 130 kilos of drugs, weapons near Tulum
Tulum, Q.R. — A shipment of 130 kilos of marijuana along with weapons were seized by members of La Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) at an address in the municipality of Tulum.
Agents of the Ministerial Police carried out an operation in the town of Francisco Uh May in response to an anonymous report of illicit activities in a private home. Acting on the tip, police arrived to find drugs and weapons, but no people.
There were no arrests. Inside, however, police seized 13 large packages of marijuana with a total weight of 130 kilos, as well as two guns, one of which was an AR-15 and the other a shotgun. Police also found two chargers for an AK-47 inside the house along with two other chargers.
The drugs and weapons were placed at the disposal of the PGR for the corresponding investigations.
